Building virtual worlds and simulators make concepts more tangible and meaningful for students and set the stage for hands-on experiences (Smith & Neumann, 2014, p.187, Wing, 2006, p.3, Gadanidis, 2015a, p. 165)

“Participation in computing is not only about having access but also having quality curricula and pedagogy.” (Kafai & Burke, 2013, p. 64).

Effective pedagogy can only “occur when computer programming allows children to produce, collaborate, and repurpose content that is personally meaningful.” (Kafai & Burke, 2013, p. 64).
